The Colorado Disability Pride Fest is all about giving voice to a new pride movement. Our missions is: To EMPOWER the person through eliminating any shame or guilt that may be holding them back, to EDUCATE the public via a strong awareness campaign that redefines disability in a new light that proactively appreciates human diversity, and to EMBRACE a community so that it may come together, uniting as one voice to RISE and take on the challenges of a new generation. This event is the 1st of its kind in Colorado, 4th in the nation, and 5th in the world. Come be a part of history in the making on this special day for all.
What is Colorado Disability Pride Fest?
Marching bands, floats and individuals with signs affirming the value of people with disabilities kick off the Colorado Disability Pride Fest. The parade begins at noon at College & Olive. It follows College to Laurel St to the CSU Student Center, next to the Lagoon, where the music will be from 1 – 6:30. The Flobots, a Denver band currently on a national tour, will headline the festival. The Seers, TribU2, a U2 cover band, and Lee Holiday & the Time Off will also perform. There will be food, a beer garden, a silent auction, and booths for non-profit agencies, CSU student organizations and sponsors.
